HTTP Redirect

Privacy Policy

Overview

HTTP Redirect (http-redirect.com) is operated as a personal, non-commercial service. We collect as little data as possible and do not sell, share, or monetise any information about our users or visitors.

Data processed when a redirect is served

When a visitor's browser follows a redirect through this service, the following information is processed in order to serve the request:

This information passes through temporary server access logs used for security and abuse monitoring. Logs are retained briefly and are not used to build profiles or track individuals across different websites.

The destination URL from your _redirect TXT record is retrieved via DNS and used to serve the response. Resulting redirects are cached in memory for a short period to improve performance.

Data Persistence

While visitor traffic data is ephemeral, certain service-related metadata is stored persistently in our database (Redis) to ensure the service remains operational:

This data does not contain personally identifiable information about your website visitors.

Website analytics

We use Umami to collect anonymous usage statistics for this documentation website. This is configured in a privacy-first, cookieless mode. No personal data is collected, and no information is shared with third parties.

Cookies

This website does not use cookies to track visitors or store personal information.

Data belonging to redirect visitors

If you operate a domain that uses this service, your visitors' requests pass through our servers as described above. You are responsible for informing your own visitors about any data processing that occurs as a result of using this service, where required by applicable law.
